The Acehnese community in British Columbia represents a bridge between our ancestral homeland and our Canadian present. Many of us arrived as refugees, seeking peace and opportunity while carrying with us the treasures of our culture.
Through state-supported resettlement programs and the warm embrace of Canadian society, we’ve built a thriving community that honors our heritage while contributing to the multicultural fabric of BC.
Today, we gather to celebrate, support each other, and ensure that future generations remain connected to their Acehnese roots while flourishing as proud Canadians.
